We thought we were just doing this for one day but what we found was a new way of life and a passion of exercising and eating good wholesome food. Not only did we love the way our bodies were changing but we were also feeling so much better. I have some old sports injuries that have made being a Hair Artist hard on my affected joints. After strengthening my body all my constant pain started to go away.
We didn't go crazy, we still ate good yummy food, but we limited our junk and fried foods. We kept it an enjoyable experience so we wouldn't give up and we had fun doing it together. We really enjoyed going to the gym together. Even though we were following different programs and working out separately mostly, but we would meet up for the occasional kiss and words of encouragement or secretly record each other lifting so we could show each other how badass we were. It was so much fun we haven't stopped!!! We aren't quite so intense but we still go to the gym 4 days a week and mostly together, when life doesn't get in the way.
Here are some Tips we used, loved, and still use

This is such an amazing resource, especially if you don't have a lot of experience in the gym like us and if you can't afford a trainer, which we also could not do because of our wedding expenses. This was the next best thing. They have an app where you can track and follow your workouts from and tons of free programs you can peruse, read about, and chose the right one for you. They also have meal plans and lots of information on nutrition and figuring the right kind of meal plan for your goals. We still use it and love it!!!
We used the Vega sport products, Prepare, Sustain, and Recover, and the protein powder. Since i'm sensitive to gluten and dairy it was an awesome vegan and gluten free option that tastes great and blends well. We still use them and love them!
Instagram has a ton of resouces also! We found some awesome fitness pages and trainers that post videos and tips that are really useful. There is so much out there so you really have to look at the profiles and find the ones that fit your lifestyle and interests. I found a love of people that I still follow for new things to try and healthy but delicious eating tips and recipes.
The same goes for food. you don't want to eat the same things over and over that's you end up going back to fast food. Everyone can cook!!!! And with this incredible thing we call the internet there are so many recipes out there for anything, I seriously type ingredients I have in my fridge into google and I can always find a recipe and learn and new dish to make out of stuff I'm not really sure what to do with. I really encourage you to try it. We did and we found we really love it. We still eat out but we cook most of the time and end up eating a bit healthier at home then out. We have fun cooking together and for each other (Jason cooks more than me, I'm a little spoiled...hehe).
These things that seemed so daunting in the beginning we found if we just shifted a few things in our lives we could make room to live a healthier one and created an environment where we enjoy it. It doesn't take much honestly, just feeling better keeps you going, you just have to get far enough to start feeling better. What changed our lifestlye for good was not just the visual results but mostly for how much better we felt as a whole; mind, body, and soul.
